For the Spring 2015 collections, designers are all about accentuating the waist. Waist belts may not really be a new trend but I see many Kimono-Judo-Obi belts being used to accentuate the waist this Spring. The long, simply looped obi belt, the exaggerated definition of the big bow judo belt or the flowy, long knotted fabric ones… you cannot go wrong.
This slimming accessory is worn tied around the waist this of models at Celine, Alexander Wang, Balmain, Marni and BCBG to name a few. If you’d like to make this trend work for you, try wearing it over your winter coat, flowy trousers, dresses, blazers and tops to streamline and flatter your silhouette. Make sure the belt is sitting above your natural waistline, your smallest point. Or if you don’t have a defined waist you could try wearing it at your hips or add an extra layer!
