Amsterdam, it scares some, appalls others but intrigues all…
I think I have never understood what is so special about Amsterdam until I moved away. Living far away from the historical beauty and the coziness of the Dutch cities, far away from the country where you get around by bike, where you stroll along the streets while shopping, only to be seduced to sit down for a coffee and watch people go by, makes you appreciate its uniqueness even more.
You simply got to love this scenic, charming city that is filled with culture, people and food from all around the world.
People are in general friendly and open minded. They all speak your language, or at least will try to, and you’ll see Amsterdam is actually more of a village because it is relatively small. This will give you the opportunity to get a real feel of our capital city in as less as one day if you are in a hurry.
Actually the whole of Europe feels like ‘a small village’ now that I live in the States. Three weeks ago I took the train from Amsterdam to Antwerp (Belgium) and in a bit less than one hour I was in the heart of Antwerp!
If I were a foreigner, I would definitely fly to Amsterdam and visit all the great historical cities Europe has to offer by train. A must do.
Let me know if you need any help planning your trip!
With love,
I love this city!!! ❤
