In the midst of winter I found there was an invincible summer within me’, Albert Camus wrote long ago, meaning that no matter how hard the world pushes against us, within us, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.
A happy thought that is so true for every single soul on this planet.
This beautiful meaning though, was not the first that came to my mind when I read it. It made me aware again of my personal need to live the rhythm of the seasons as I grew up in a country where the four seasons are clearly defined; the first sunbeams that come out cautiously in Spring after the snow and ice have finally disappeared and the fall colored leaves falling down the trees after warm sunny Summers.
Apparently it is not that easy to get this innate need out of your system as in the midst of this sunny summer I find myself secretly looking forward to winter…
Have a great summer!
